Updating from v1

If you are currently using the older version of Punjab Educare Teacher (the one you installed in 2025), this guide will help you remove it and install the new version correctly.

The new app is faster, lighter, and updates itself automatically — so you will never need to do this again.

Before you begin

The old and new versions of the app cannot run at the same time. You must fully remove the old version first before installing the new one.

Step 1 — Open Control Panel

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard.
2. Type Control Panel and press Enter.
3. The Control Panel window will open.

Step 2 — Go to Programs

1. Inside Control Panel, look for "Programs" or "Programs and Features".
2. Click on "Uninstall a program" (it is listed below "Programs").
3. A list of all apps installed on your computer will appear. Wait a moment for it to fully load.

Step 3 — Find the Old App

1. Scroll through the list and look for "Punjab Educare Teacher".
2. Click on it once to select it (it will be highlighted in blue).

Can't find it?

Try clicking the Name column header to sort the list alphabetically — this makes it easier to find apps starting with "P".

Step 4 — Uninstall

1. Once "Punjab Educare Teacher" is selected, look at the toolbar at the top of the list.
2. Click the "Uninstall" button that appears.
3. A confirmation window may appear asking "Are you sure you want to uninstall this program?" — click Yes.
4. Wait for the uninstall to complete. This usually takes less than a minute.
5. The app will disappear from the list when it is done.

Step 5 — Download the New App

1. Go to the Teacher Desktop page.
2. Click the Download for Windows button.
3. A file named educare-teacher_windows-x86_64-setup.exe will be saved to your Downloads folder.

Step 6 — Install the New App

1. Open your Downloads folder and double-click the downloaded file.

2. A setup wizard will open — click Next and follow the on-screen steps.

3. If a Windows SmartScreen warning appears saying "Windows protected your PC":

   • Click "More info"
   • Then click "Run anyway"

   This is normal for new apps — the app is safe to install.

4. Once installation is complete, the app will open automatically.

Step 7 — Log In

1. Enter your registered email address and password.
2. You will be taken to your dashboard just like before.

Your data is safe

Your question submissions and account information are stored on the server — nothing is lost when switching versions.

Done ✓

You are now running the latest version of Punjab Educare Teacher.

From this point on, the app will check for updates automatically every time it starts. When an update is available, an "Update and Restart" button will appear in the title bar — just click it and you're done.

You will never need to manually update again.
